Tawanda Jethro Maswanhise

Motherwell signed Tawanda Maswanhise as a free agent after Leicester City released him at the end of the 2023–24 season, closing a chapter that had begun in the English club's academy back in 2011. His time at Leicester yielded a single senior appearance, in the FA Cup against Millwall, before the move north on a short-term deal that was later extended into a longer contract.

At Fir Park his output has grown sharply. In his first season he scored six goals in 34 appearances. The following campaign changed the picture entirely: 22 goals in 38 appearances. He has continued scoring into the current season, having already found the net once in five league outings.

Maswanhise has also established himself with Zimbabwe. He made his senior international debut in a defeat to Kenya, and later scored his first goal for his country against the same opponents in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier that finished 1–1. His second international goal came at the Africa Cup of Nations itself, struck in the 17th minute of a 2–3 loss to South Africa. He has earned 17 caps for Zimbabwe to date.
