Valon Berisha

Valon Berisha was born in Malmö and started out at Egersunds IK. Red Bull Salzburg signed him in 2012, and the six years that followed were the most decorated of his career: five straight Austrian Bundesliga titles, five Austrian Cups, and the league's Player of the Year award for 2017–18. He also topped the assist charts in 2016–17. The performance still remembered is his brace against Borussia Dortmund in the 2018 Europa League last 16.

A €7.5 million move to SS Lazio followed, though he struggled to hold down a regular place in Rome. A costly error away to Celtic in the Europa League in November 2019 played a part in Lazio's elimination from the group, but he still left the club with a Coppa Italia and a Supercoppa Italiana to his name. Loan spells at Fortuna Düsseldorf and later Melbourne City punctuated a move to Stade de Reims, where he stayed from 2020 until his contract was terminated in September 2023. He signed for LASK as a free agent in January 2024, on a deal running to 2026, before joining FC Zürich as a free agent in February 2026.

Berisha came through Norway's youth and senior set-ups before switching his international allegiance to Kosovo in 2016. He has since earned 52 caps and scored four goals, his first coming on debut against Finland during qualifying for the 2018 World Cup.
