Yusuf Mbodji

Mbodji's football journey began in Senegal, where he came through a string of academies — PSG Academy Senegal, ASC Doolé and ASC Aspa — before his path took him to Europe. In autumn 2024 he moved to France to join the youth ranks at Thonon Évian Grand Genève FC. His eight months there produced no competitive appearances for the senior side, which played in the fifth tier; he was limited to training sessions and friendlies.

The breakthrough came in January 2025, when Mbodji signed for FC Vysočina Jihlava in the Czech second division. It was there, in a competitive Czech league, that he first got minutes on the pitch, making six appearances and scoring once. That short spell was enough to catch Slavia Praha's attention, and the move to Prague was finalised on 20 August 2025. The fee, reported at roughly 30 million Czech koruna, was structured with bonuses and split between his agent, Thonon Évian and Jihlava.

Mbodji has been mentioned as a prospect for Senegal's youth setup and has spoken of his ambition to represent the Lions. He has not yet won a cap at any level, senior or youth, for the national team. His career so far has been one of short, quick steps — Senegal to France, France to the Czech second division, and now to Slavia — each stop lasting only months before the next move.
