Zheng Zheng

Zheng Zheng has never worn another club's colours. He joined the Shandong Luneng youth academy in 1999, worked through the ranks and was promoted to the first team in 2008, though his senior debut had to wait until an AFC Champions League match in March 2010. That first season delivered a Chinese Super League title and the Chinese Football Association's Young Player of the Year award.

He grew into a regular starter and eventually the captaincy: in October 2022 he passed Shu Chang to become the club's all-time record appearance-maker in the Chinese Super League, and by March 2024 he had reached 400 appearances for the club overall. As of August 2025 his league tally stood at more than 343 appearances and 11 goals. He was named to the Chinese Super League Team of the Year in 2012, 2013 and 2014, and his collection of honours with the club runs to three league titles, four Chinese FA Cups and a Chinese FA Super Cup.

At international level, Zheng Zheng made his China debut on 6 October 2011 against the United Arab Emirates and scored his first two goals for the national side just over a month later, against Singapore in 2014 World Cup qualification. He went on to earn 23 caps, featuring in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers, the 2017 EAFF E-1 Football Championship — where China took bronze — the 2018 China Cup and the 2022 World Cup Asian qualifiers.
