Founded in 2022 and based in Baku, the club has carried three names before this one — Absheron, AAAF Xırdalan, Absheron Lions.
The 2025–26 season produced the club's clearest measure of progress: a run to the Azerbaijan Basketball League final, lost to Sabah BK, following an Azerbaijan Cup final defeat two seasons earlier. Between those two finals sat a first taste of European competition, in the FIBA Europe Cup, where the group draw put them behind Neftchi IK, BC Kalev/Cramo and Trefl Sopot and the campaign ended at the bottom of the table.
Erhan Toker took charge for that 2025–26 campaign and steered the team to its runner-up finish in the league. On the roster, James Frazier Jr. is the name most associated with the club's rise, though it is Tamerlan Novruzlu, still coming through the youth setup, who points to what the Landau partnership is meant to produce next.
