Asiago

Pala Hodegart holds around 3,500 people, but the arena sits in a town of a few thousand residents on the Asiago plateau, and on the nights that matter it fills anyway. That relationship between a small mountain town and a rink that outgrows it has shaped most of what the club has done since Eduardo Carli founded it in 1935.

The record built on that ice is the heaviest in Italian hockey: ten Serie A titles, stretched from 2000–01 to a run of wins across the 2010s and into 2025–26, alongside three Coppa Italia campaigns and six Supercoppa Italiana wins. Continental hockey has been less kind — Asiago reached the IIHF Continental Cup Super Final four times without ever lifting it, settling for bronze in 2013–14. The club's more recent history has had rougher edges too: after two seasons in the ICE Hockey League, Asiago was expelled in March 2025 over financial difficulties and infrastructure shortfalls, and a new entity had to be formed to keep the team going in the Alps Hockey League, where it had already won the title twice.

The jersey's yellow star gives the team its nickname, Stellati, and the derby against Val Pusteria still draws the sharpest attention on the calendar, a legacy of years when matches against Milano Vipers carried the same weight.

No one is tied to Asiago more than Lucio Topatigh, regarded as the finest player Italian hockey has produced, though the club's all-time scoring mark belongs to Mario Simioni. The town has not forgotten Darcy Robinson either, the player who died on the ice in 2007.
