Kitzbuhel

Eight teams and 1965 to 1973 sound like a brief stay, but Kitzbühel got there from nothing more than a rink built for a market town in the Tyrolean mountains, and it held its own, finishing as high as third before the drop back to the lower divisions closed that chapter for good.

What survived is the amateur game. Three Austrian National League titles arrived early, in 1949, 1952 and 1954, when the club still competed under its original name before the 1925 switch to EC Kitzbühel. The Oberliga has stayed the club's level since, and the run there stretches the longest of any honour on the books: 1976, then 1995/96, 2003/04, 2004/05, and, ninety-nine years after the second of those Staatsliga titles, 2024/25.
