Guildford

Every Guildford Flames season has a fixture that matters more than the league table around it: the trip to Berkshire, whatever the Bracknell side happens to be called at the time. It is the closest derby the club has. Older still is the enmity with the Fife Flyers.

The Flames were put together in October 1992 by Barry Dow and Bill Hurley, and the first competitive season followed within months. Home fixtures started at Alexandra Palace before the club settled at the Guildford Spectrum in 1993, where it has stayed since.

Ryan Campbell's 665 points make him the club's leading scorer of all time.

The Flames took the British National League title in 1997–98 and 2000–01, adding the play-off crown in both those years and again in 2003–04, only to be beaten by Dundee in the 2004–05 final. When the league structure changed, Guildford kept pace, winning the English Premier Ice Hockey League in 2005–06, 2007–08 and back-to-back in 2011–12 and 2012–13, with a play-off title in 2010–11 to go with it.
