The club's opponents in the 2. hokejová liga West Group — sides such as Púchov, Martin and Dolný Kubín — are simply the names that come round each season from across Slovakia.

HO Hamikovo exists because Hamuliakovo, a village in the Bratislava Region, got an ice arena before it had a team to fill it. The Hokejová Hala Hamuliakovo, known locally as the Gutori rink, was finished in 2009, and the club followed a year later, entering the third-tier league from the 2011–12 season. The rink seats 100.

A fifth-place finish overall in 2012/13, with second place in the main group, remains among the better seasons; more recently the team has settled into the lower group, finishing second there in 2023/24 and fourth in 2024/25. No senior men's title has come the club's way.

Colours are yellow and black, and the club goes by its full name rather than any adopted nickname.

What the arena made possible in 2009, the team has been working through ever since.
