2. Liga (Slovakia) 2026/27

The 2. Slovenská hokejová liga operates as the third tier of ice hockey in Slovakia. Organized by the Slovak Ice Hockey Federation (SZĽH), the competition was established in 1993 after the split of Czechoslovakia. It evolved from the former 2. Slovenská národná hokejová liga. The league sits below the Tipsport Extraliga and the 1. Slovenská hokejová liga.

The structure divides teams into two regional groups: the West and the East. For the 2025/26 season, sixteen clubs compete, with eight sides in each group. This represents a slight expansion from the previous season, which included fifteen teams. The regular season format has shifted in recent years. While top teams previously advanced to a Winners' Group and lower-ranked sides to a Losers' Group, the current plan simplifies the path to a direct top-eight playoff.

Qualification for the higher division is determined through a promotion barage. The winner of the 2. Liga playoffs faces the last-placed team of the 1. Liga in a best-of-seven series. Clubs designated as "B" teams of higher-tier organisations are not eligible for this promotion.

ŠHK Púchov holds the record for the most titles won by a single club. MHA Martin claimed the most recent championship in the 2024/25 season. HK Brezno won the title in 2008/09. The league has occasionally featured international participants from Hungary and Poland during its history. The 2019/20 season was cancelled due to global health circumstances. The competition maintains a distinct regional grouping structure compared to the more centralized second tier above it.
