Jeju United FC

The team that plays at Jeju World Cup Stadium began life in 1982 on the peninsula as Yukong Kokkiri, and only later took the island's name — Jeju United in 2006, then Jeju SK FC in 2025.

The ground opened on 9 December 2001. That is where the nickname Wind Force comes from. It holds 35,657 now; the temporary tiers that pushed the figure to 42,000 for the World Cup came down afterwards and were never replaced.

The league title is a single entry, and it belongs to 1989 — won under the old name, three years before the club had anything to do with Jeju, and never repeated in the decades since. Closer to the modern era are the three League Cups, in 1994, 1996 and 2000, the last of them arriving just as the stadium in Seogwipo was going up.

Among the players associated with the club, Ma Cheol-jun is the one whose name still comes up in conversations about the orange shirts. The colours — orange and white — feed the other nickname.

What is missing is a second championship.
