Kamit Tver

The gold medal in 2012 came against Cherepovets: Kamit Tver beat them 83:34 in the final of the Spartakiad of Cities of the Center and North-West of Russia. Before that, the club had already made a habit of doing well outside the professional ladder, taking the Student Basketball League of the North-West of Russia in 2007 and reaching third place in the final of the First Basketball League of Russia the following year.

By the time of that student success, Kamit had grown out of Tver State University, where entrepreneur Nikolai Gorshkov set the team up in 2001 and stayed on as its president. The club is remembered as often as Kamit-Universitet as it is as Kamit or BC Kamit.

Alexey Lobanov took over as head coach in 2010 and stayed until the end, five years in which the club held its place in the Russian Higher League, the country's second tier, after joining it in 2009. One of the players he had for a season, Alexander Manihin, arrived in 2011 having already won the Russian Super League with Ural Great and played for the youth national team.

Kamit played at the Dom Sporta "Yunost" in Tver, a hall that held 250 for basketball, and turned to the Tverichanka-2000 sports complex when needed; neither ground met the Higher League's own requirements for a top-flight venue. The club never resolved that mismatch and folded in 2015, having spent its last years in a league that had effectively outgrown its home.
