Krasnoyarsk W

The women's team that skates there, known as Biryusinki, was founded in 1987 as Lokomotiv Krasnoyarsk. It kept that name until 2008, played as Lokomotiv-Energiya for four years, and has been Biryusa since 2012.

The club's best results came early, under the first name. In 1991 it took silver at the USSR Championship. In 1992 it won the title. In 1998 the team won an international tournament at Cergy-Pontoise in France.

Once the Russian Women's Hockey League (ZhHL) took over as the national competition, the medals were bronze. The first came in 1995–96 and the tenth in 2019–20. Some of the gaps were long: after 2002–03 the next bronze arrived only in 2008–09, and the one after that in 2015–16.

The 2019–20 season also brought the club's most recent individual award. Valeria Pavlova was named ZhHL Forward of the Year. In September 2021 she was named Forward of the Month.

Biryusa now plays in the Women's Hockey League (WHL), with Alexander Vedernikov as head coach. The last of its ten bronze medals dates from 2019–20.
