Maghreb de Fès

Fez had already produced a football side under French administration when a group of local sportsmen put together their own club in 1946, one meant to carry the city's name rather than a colonial one. Maghreb Association Sportive, known since as MAS Fez, grew from that intent, and the yellow and black it wears has stayed attached to the same idea of representing the old capital against Casablanca and Rabat money.

The Botola came to Fez three times in quick succession during the 1960s and 1980s — 1965, 1979, 1983, 1985 — then stopped. Two relegations followed, in 1997 and 2006, and both times the club came back up through the second division at the first attempt. The championship itself did not return for 41 years, until the 2025–26 season, when the Tigers finally got over the line again.

Continental football gave the club its biggest night: the CAF Confederation Cup in 2011, followed by the CAF Super Cup the year after. Domestically, the Throne Cup has come to Fez four times, most recently in 2016.

Derby de Fès, against Wydad de Fès, still carries the sharpest edge in the city, the kind of fixture where the league table matters less than the result on the day.
