Handball in Pabianice traces back to the 1960s, when MRKS "Włókniarz" ran a section that survived until the club's debts spiralled past 7 billion old złoty and its doors were locked in March 1994. Nine years later, in 2003, players and organisers regrouped under a new name, PABiKS, picking up the thread rather than starting one. Bogumił Malinowski , who later wrote a history of the sport in the town, coached the old side, and Henryk Langierowicz is remembered for the results he got out of it in those earlier years.

The new club spent sixteen seasons in the second-tier II Liga before winning promotion to the I Liga in 2020/2021. No cup or league title has followed it into the top flight. Mariusz Kuśmierczyk finished as leading scorer in his group with 137 goals in 2021/2022.

They play in yellow and blue at the Powiatowa Hala Sportowa. The fixture against KK Włókniarz Konstantynów Łódzki is billed as the "Derby for Pabianice".
