Poland U20 Women

Poland's biggest football ground spent the summer of 2026 hosting women's football for the first time. The Silesian Stadium in Chorzów, built for 54,378 spectators, staged the opening match of the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, and it was the home side that walked out for it, against Argentina, as tournament hosts. They won 3-0, then shared the rest of their group games between Sosnowiec's ArcelorMittal Park, Arena Katowice and the Municipal Stadium in Bielsko-Biała, before going out at the group stage.

That World Cup place capped a slow build.

Known as the White-and-Reds, after the white shirts and red shorts of the home kit, the squad that took the field in Chorzów included Maja Zielińska and Weronika Araśniewicz, both since attached to VfL Wolfsburg after Araśniewicz's spell at Barcelona. Marcin Kasprowicz coaches the age group, working with players drawn together for camps rather than a settled home base; training has run through Karczew and Bielsko-Biała as much as through any single ground.

Three goals, no reply, against Argentina remains the number this generation has to show for its first World Cup.
