Rebels

Yaroslavl's American football side plays in the Eastern European Super League, the top tier shared by Russian and Belarusian clubs, though the Rebels' place in it has not been steady — spells in the Premier Division have alternated with drops to the First League and the regional Volga Division.

A group of enthusiasts started the club in 2013, the first American football team the city had seen, and played their opening match that same year.

The Rebels took the Northern Cup with a 76–0 scoreline and added the Russian North Cup by beating Arkhangelsk 40–0 and Vologda 36–0. Andrey Bogachev, Ivan Averin and Magomed Madashev went on to be called up by the Russian national team; Artem Polyakov has combined playing with running the club as general manager.

Yaroslavl itself sits on the Volga, and the Rebels have used the city's Small Arena Shinnik for their games.
