Red Wolves

When Arkansas State did away with the Indians name in 2008, it settled on Red Wolves for every team that wears the university's colours, football included. The football side carries a longer history than the name now attached to it: it first took the field in 1911, two years after the university itself opened its doors in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Red and white have stayed constant through that whole stretch, from the Indians years into the Red Wolves era that followed.

That is the level the name has always belonged to in Jonesboro.
