Sutjeska Foča

Sutjeska Foča sit in the lower tiers of Republika Srpska football, having taken group titles in the Second League of the Republika Srpska in 1995–96 and again in 2006–07. Neither the First League of the Republika Srpska nor a place in the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina has followed.

The name dates from 23 February 1946, chosen to honour the players of Graničar, the pre-war Foča club, who died fighting in the Battle of Sutjeska during the Second World War.

Foča has produced footballers who went considerably further than the town did: Radmilo Mihajlović left for Bayern Munich and Schalke 04, Rade Paprica moved through Željezničar to PAOK and Beşiktaş, and Rešad Kunovac, after playing for Partizan, later coached at Atlético Madrid and Barcelona.

Home games are played in front of a support known as the Haveri, at a ground holding 4,000. With no other professional club in the town, Sutjeska have no derby to speak of; the closest thing to a rivalry belongs to history, to the old contests between Graničar and Sloga before the two names merged into one.
