Ball Arena
Denver, United States
Formerly: Pepsi Center
There are three screens hanging above the field, each one wide and dark when the game is not on. The floor is green, the kind of green that looks painted, and the lines are white. The seats go up in two tiers, the bottom row close to the glass that separates the crowd from the ice.
When the Denver Nuggets come on, the court is wood and the lights are bright. When the Avalanche play, the surface is ice and the boards are painted blue. The arena is not built for football. The logo is a ball, the name is a ball, the floor is a ball, but the sound is different when the puck hits the boards than when the ball rolls. The crowd is loud either way. The seats are blue, the fans are blue, the scoreboard is blue. The only thing that is not blue is the sky, which is the same in winter and summer.
