Stadium
Centre Marcel-Dionne
Drummondville, Canada
Formerly: Centre Civique
The Centre Marcel-Dionne does not have the sweeping curves of a cathedral or the steel grin of a modern colosseum. Originally opened as the Centre Civique in 1963, it was renamed in 1980 to honour Marcel Dionne, the Drummondville native who became a star in the National Hockey League. The ice surface is standard regulation.
The arena’s identity is tied to the Voltigeurs de Drummondville. The capacity is listed as 4,000, though the official seat count is closer to 3,038; the standing room fills the gaps.
The building has survived its share of hardship.
