The Espoo Metro Areena is a modern arena in Espoo, Finland. It began life as LänsiAuto Areena before changing its name twice, eventually becoming the barona Areena and then the Espoo Metro Areena.
The venue has hosted several significant events, including the IIHF Women's World Championship and the European Figure Skating Championships. It is currently home to Kiekko-Espoo, who play in the Mestis league, and the Finland men's national basketball team. The capacity for ice hockey sits at 7,161, a figure that grew significantly after a major renovation in 2015. Before that, the Espoo Blues played here, but the team left for Helsinki in 2016. The arena also welcomed the KHL team Dinamo Riga for a series of games in 2008.
The arena is set to host the 2027 FIBA Women's EuroBasket, adding another layer to its history. While the original construction was completed by Citiprojektit Oy, the specific costs remain unclear. The venue continues to serve as a central point for sport in the region.
