Mirandão did not open quietly. On 7 February 2009, Araguaína welcomed Goiás for the inaugural match and came away with a 1-2 defeat — a visiting club making the trip deep into Tocantins to switch the lights on at a ground that might otherwise have opened without much notice.

That state ownership also explains where it sits: along the Rodovia TO-010, inside a green-belt sector on the eastern side of Araguaína.

The pitch is natural grass. Beyond the opening fixture, no renovation, record crowd or defining match has been recorded for Mirandão — its history, as far as it goes, starts and largely ends with the day Goiás came to town.
