The name comes from the meat-extract works that made Фрей-Бентос known well beyond the Río Negro riverbank, and the ground kept it: Парке Либигс .
What sets it apart from the other grounds in town is that nobody lives here. Парке Либигс has no permanent tenant at all. It is the neutral ground.
The 10,000 capacity is the reason. Refurbishment work was completed for that tournament, and the ground reopened on 13 November 2011 .
