Fiera Ice Arena
Rho (Milan), Italy
The venue stands at the edge of the Fieramilano Rho exhibition centre. The Fiera Ice Arena is a tent-based facility financed by Fondazione Fiera Milano, designed as a stopgap measure for three to five years until a permanent home is built for the city's winter sports.
Construction began on July 6, 2026, with the laying of the first pillar, and the facility is expected to open its doors in October 2026. The arena includes a pre-game warming area and connects to district heating from the Figino waste-to-energy plant, while advanced air treatment systems work to keep the environment stable.
Capacity is listed at 3,998 seats, though Italian sources generally cite approximately 4,000. The venue is already the designated home for Milano Hockey Club in the Italian Hockey League and will host the 2027 IIHF Women's World Championship Division I Group A. The official inauguration will coincide with a skating gala marking the 100th anniversary of the Italian Ice Sports Federation (FISG). The first match is scheduled for October 9, 2026, between Milano Hockey Club and HC Innsbruck.
The arena also serves as a federal center for figure skating, short track, para ice hockey, and curling. No other venues with this name have been identified in the region.
