Hilton Park is not a single stadium. It is a vast expanse of parkland in Beaconsfield, a suburb of Perth, split between Carrington Street and Lefroy Road. This is a working reserve, not a destination built for spectacle. The land itself was set aside as part of the Fremantle Commonage in 1884. It was known as Chester Park before the name Hilton Park stuck prior to 1930.

The site is defined by its multiple oval shapes rather than a central building. Dick Lawrence Oval and Ken Allen Field sit side by side on natural grass. The primary tenant here is Fremantle City FC, formed in 2014 from the merger of East Fremantle Tricolore and Fremantle United. The latter club called this ground home for decades, and the club still fields teams in the National Premier Leagues Western Australia. The complex is undergoing a ten-year masterplan led by the City of Fremantle and REALM Studios to revitalize the precinct.

While the city has larger stadiums, this place has a different rhythm. The ground gets flooded for community matches and league ties alike. For Fremantle City FC, it is a home ground that reflects the community it serves — practical, historic, and unpretentious.
