InnovationPlex
Swift Current, Canada
Formerly: Centennial Civic Centre, Credit Union i-plex
InnovationPlex sits at 2001 Chaplin Street East in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, and has been a community anchor since January 1967. It opened as the Centennial Civic Centre, a name that stayed until 2008, before shifting to Credit Union i-plex and finally settling on its current title after a rebranding by Innovation Credit Union. The building is not a stadium but a multi-purpose arena.
The 2007 renovation is the point where the space changed shape. A curling complex was added alongside the hockey rink, which doubled the venue’s utility. The hockey surface measures 200 feet by 85 feet and uses natural ice; the curling sheets sit on the same refrigerated floor. Seating holds 2,879 for hockey, with standing room bringing the total to 3,239.
The Swift Current Broncos of the Western Hockey League have called the place home since 1967, with a brief relocation to Lethbridge between 1974 and 1986. Concerts and circuses fill the gaps between sports.
The city manages the site directly through swiftcurrent.ca, and there is no separate official website for the arena itself.
