Kotkan Energia Areena
Kotka, Finland
Formerly: Kotkan jäähalli, NordicBet Areena, KYMP Areena, Expert Areena, Ilona Areena, KSOY Areena, Vaasan Koulunäkki Areena
Kotkan Energia Areena sits in the Kärkisaari area of Kotka, Finland. The venue opened in 2005.
The structure itself is defined by its history of changing identities. The most significant alteration to the physical space occurred recently. In 2023, the arena closed for a lengthy period to replace the foundation slab and the cooling pipe system beneath the main rink.
Inside, the playing surface is artificial ice, maintained by a refrigeration system that keeps the rink ready regardless of the Finnish weather outside. The venue serves the local team, Kotkan Titaanit, providing a consistent home ground for players who compete in the Suomi-sarja.
