Ice Palace of Sports
Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia
Unlike the larger Arena Yugra nearby, which hosts the senior professional team HC Yugra, this arena serves a different generation. It is the home of Mamonty Yugra, the junior side competing in the MHL. The capacity is 2,000.
The surface is artificial ice, maintained by professional refrigeration systems. The venue has hosted a variety of events beyond standard matches. It has seen the curling competitions of the 18th Winter Deaflympics in 2015 and sledge hockey events during the 2017 All-Russian Winter Paralympic Games for the Disabled.
It has also opened its doors for cultural shows, hosting the 'Stars on Ice' performance by Ilya Averbukh and a concert by the pop group Ruki Vverkh! in October 2018. For the hockey team, it was a temporary home. HC Yugra played some of their early games here during the 2008–2010 period before moving to the larger arena. The venue has seen technological upgrades, including a large-scale LED frieze, but it remains fundamentally unchanged since it opened in 2005.
