The ground does not stand alone.

What makes this place different from the identical one down the road is what happened here before it was a football pitch. This work brought an artificial pitch to the neighbourhood, replacing the old grass that struggled in the damp Norwegian weather. You can tell it is newer by the clean lines of the lighting rigs that flank the field, though they are not particularly tall.

The capacity is small, barely enough to hold a quarter of the crowd that once watched Fana IL beat Brann in the Norwegian Cup back in 2000. That match is likely the only time the place felt full. Today, it is a local hub for the Fana borough, hosting youth tournaments and community events rather than attracting visitors. There is no grand entrance, no museum, and no history written on the walls. It is simply a pitch in a park, surrounded by trees and houses. The artificial surface provides a consistent playing area through the wet winters, but it lacks the character of a natural lawn. The stands are basic, offering little protection from the wind that sweeps down from the hills. It is a functional space, built for the people who live nearby, not for the game itself.
