Raahen jäähalli

The arena is known locally as Helaakoski Areena, a name it picked up in November 2017. Before that, it was simply Raahen jäähalli. The capacity is modest, sitting at 1,496, split between 502 seated places and 994 standing spots. The ice surface itself is artificial, a detail that matters for maintenance but is not visible from the outside. Inside, the rink measures 30 by 60 metres, a standard size that allows for ice hockey matches involving teams like Raahen Jääkiekkoklubi or figure skating sessions.

It sits within Koivuluodon urheilupuisto, a sports park that feels separate from the town centre. When a major renovation was announced in January 2021, plans included a new grandstand and an ice resurfacing robot. The City of Raahe owns the building and maintains it, directing all inquiries to a single email address rather than running a dedicated site for the hall.
