Ulverstone Showgrounds A trotting track ran there from 1934 until it closed in 1991, hosting the Ulverstone Cup harness racing event. The current tenants are different. The Redhoppers, the local soccer club, play their home games on the natural grass surface. The West Ulverstone Football Club, the Lions, share the patch. LED floodlights were officially opened in 2021, installed to meet the demands of the National Premier Leagues and the Women’s Super League. This was followed by an underground irrigation system completed around 2025–2026. Before the lights, the venue was the stage for the annual Ulverstone Show, a country fair organised by the Ulverstone Show Society Inc. that has run for approximately 120 years. The most notable match was the 1963 Australia Cup Round 1 game between Hobart Rangers and Ulverstone. The site covers 3 hectares and includes 15 buildings, hosting the Ulverstone Men’s Shed and meetings for the Rotary Club alongside the sports.
