The Seven's World Series Women - Spain is a fixture of the international HSBC SVNS circuit, not a domestic league. Held in Valladolid for the 2026 season, this stop is part of the global series organized by World Rugby in partnership with the Spanish Rugby Federation (FERugby). The event was established in 2022, marking the first time Spain hosted a World Series tournament. Previous editions took place in Málaga and Seville, with Australia securing victories in both the inaugural Seville leg and the subsequent MAD Grand Final in Madrid.
The competition features national teams rather than clubs, distinguishing it from the GPS Campeonato de España de Rugby 7s Femenino. The domestic championship, founded in 2016–17, operates as a multi-leg series involving elite clubs such as CR Sant Cugat and CR Majadahonda. Unlike the international stop, the domestic league has no promotion or relegation and crowns a champion through a final match, currently held by Olímpico de Pozuelo CR. The World Series event serves as a high-level showcase for the participating nations, including Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, and China.
While the domestic series focuses on club development within Spain, this international tournament represents the country on the world stage. The 2026 edition will be held in Valladolid in May. The structure of the international stop allows for competition between the best national sides, contrasting with the regional nature of the GPS. The event continues to grow in prominence since its inception, providing a platform for women's rugby in Spain.
