Supersevens (France) 2026/27

In Extenso Supersevens is the premier professional rugby sevens competition in France, organized by the Ligue Nationale de Rugby (LNR). Created in 2019, the tournament marked the first professional club sevens event in the country, with its inaugural edition held in February 2020. Unlike traditional French rugby structures, it operates as a standalone professional circuit distinct from the Fédérale competitions managed by the FFR.

The men's competition currently features 16 teams, including all 14 clubs from the Top 14, Monaco Rugby Sevens, and the Barbarians Français. Participation is automatic for Top 14 clubs, with no promotion or relegation. Teams must field hybrid squads comprising at least three Top 14 professionals and up to four "joker" players recruited from specialists, Pro D2, or Fédérale 1. The format evolved from a single event in 2020 to a multi-stage series. Since 2021, the season consists of preliminary summer stages held in August, followed by a grand final in January or February at the Paris La Défense Arena.

The Barbarians Français are the most successful club, having won the title three times. The current men's title holder is Union Bordeaux Bègles. A women's competition was introduced in the 2024-2025 season, with Lyon OU as the current champion. The competition is distinguished from the World Rugby Sevens Series by its club-based structure and from the Top 14 by its sevens format, festival atmosphere, and summer scheduling.

The official name includes the sponsor In Extenso, a French accounting firm, which has been the naming partner since the competition's inception.
