Olborg hosted Fredericia in the first division regular season on 14 August and lost 0-3. The visitors moved above their hosts in the table with a performance that showed they can spring a surprise away from home. Both sides came into the fixture with similar records, seven games each, but the gap in points shifted after this one.
The second half opened with a flurry of changes at the break. E. Hansborg and V. Muller both came on for Olborg at the 46th minute. To be fair, those adjustments didn't prevent Fredericia from taking the lead shortly after. F. Rieper scored in the 49th minute, and the stadium fell silent for the home side.
More changes followed on the other bench. J. Adedeji and K. Normann replaced players for Fredericia at 56 minutes. By then Olborg had already conceded, and they couldn't stop the second blow. A. Lyng found the net at 58 minutes, and Olborg's manager sent him off for another purpose at 61 minutes, bringing on A. Dahl instead.
The third goal came when Olborg had already accepted defeat. M. Kaasa entered the fray at 74 minutes, but it was too late. E. Simonsen scored for Fredericia at 68 minutes, and that sealed the result.
Olborg dominated possession at 56 per cent but failed to convert. They registered two shots on target from five attempts, giving them an accuracy of 13 per cent. Fredericia, by contrast, hit the target seven times from ten attempts, and their two big chances produced two goals.
The result moves Fredericia into third place with 12 points from seven games. Olborg remain in sixth with 11 points, one behind the visitors. That single point will matter more than anything else in the coming weeks.
