AB Kopenhagen and Hvidovre shared the spoils in a 1:1 draw during the fifth round of the 1st Division on Saturday. The hosts took an early lead through L. Prip, who fired home just four minutes in, but the visitors refused to go away and dragged the game back into contention.
It was a tidy opening for AB Kopenhagen, who looked sharp in the first spell. Prip found space and made no mistake, but Hvidovre quickly adjusted and began to control the tempo. By then the visitors had got in behind the home defence several times, though they never quite got the breakthrough.
AB Kopenhagen collected three yellow cards before half-time, with T. Sousa, D. Bagou and A. Liu all cautioned. The referee lost the thread a bit, but the hosts made changes at the break anyway, bringing on M. Clement and C. Grening alongside Sousa's replacement. It was a tactical shuffle rather than a panic move.
Hvidovre grew into the game and pushed for an equaliser. They created more chances in the second half, though their shot accuracy of 22 per cent told a different story. The visitors were second to everything in possession but kept throwing bodies forward, and eventually their persistence paid off.
The turning point came in the 85th minute when D. Stenderup bundled the ball into his own net. It was a cruel blow for AB Kopenhagen, who had held firm for most of the match. The away end never stopped, and the visitors celebrated a point that keeps them on course.
AB Kopenhagen now sit eighth with six points from six games, while Hvidovre remain in second place on 14 points. The result ends a run of two defeats for the hosts and extends Hvidovre's unbeaten streak to six matches.
