Brønshøj responded to the setback at the start of the second period. The goal in the forty-seventh minute gave them a glimmer of hope, but Kolding were not done. A fifth goal arrived in the sixtieth minute, and the match was effectively over. The away side played the second half a man up in spirit if not on paper.
The result means Kolding advance to the next round while Brønshøj's cup dream ends here. The hosts' recent 1-0 win over Kjellerup looked fragile against this opposition. Kolding's record of five matches with two wins, two draws and one loss suggested they had been finding results, but this was a different level.
