CSM Râmnicu Vâlcea and Bău played out a 2-2 draw in the fourth round of Liga II's Regular Season on Saturday. The home side took an early lead through A. Trascu's goal in the second minute, but the visitors levelled at 2-2 after G. Cirstean's strike in the 58th minute.
The opening exchanges belonged to CSM Râmnicu Vâlcea. Trascu broke the deadlock after just two minutes, and Bordea doubled the advantage in the eighteenth minute. Bău pulled one back through Lemac in the twenty-ninth minute, and by then the match had opened up properly.
And here's the thing about the twenty-minute mark — Luncasu picked up a yellow card for the visitors as the tempo increased. Neither side could find a winner after Cirstean's equaliser, and the match finished with both teams sharing the spoils.
Discipline was a concern for the hosts throughout. CSM Râmnicu Vâlcea collected six yellow cards compared to Bău's five, with bookings scattered across both halves. The away side kept their side in it despite the extra pressure.
To be fair, the statistics told a balanced story. Both teams registered seven shots on target, though Bău went further afield with nine off-target efforts against four for the hosts. Possession split 52-48 in favour of CSM Râmnicu Vâlcea, while attacks came in at 82 and 87 respectively.
The result keeps both sides within touching distance at the top end of the table. CSM Râmnicu Vâlcea remain ninth and Bău sit eighth, with both teams on eight points from five games — two wins, two draws, and one defeat each.
