Gangwon Extend Lead with Clinical Ansan Victory
Gangwon moved further clear in second place with a comfortable 3-0 win over Ansan at the Ansan Stadium on Saturday. The visitors took all three points in the K-League 1's regular season round 27, leaving the hosts six points adrift in sixth. and here's the thing — it was the kind of performance that didn't need domination to be decisive.
Abdelkarim Chaouche opened the scoring in the 20th minute, and by then you could sense the pattern. Ansan had 57 per cent possession and 149 attacks, but Gangwon's visitors were sharper when it mattered. The goal came from a moment of clarity rather than sustained pressure, which is often how these matches turn.
The second half brought the rest. Kim Gun-hee doubled the lead in the 55th minute, and Mo Jae-hyeon added a third just four minutes later. Three substitutions for Ansan at the break — Chae Hyun-woo, Kim Dong-Jin, and Kim Jung-Hyun — did little to alter the complexion. to be fair, the hosts were already out of sight by that stage.
The statistics tell a story of wasted energy. Ansan registered 149 attacks against 119 for Gangwon, but shots on target told the real tale: one versus five.
