Seoul completed a comfortable victory over Gwangju at the Football Stadium with a 5-2 scoreline in the K-League 1 regular season on Saturday. The visitors took control early and never looked back, moving clear at the top of the table in the process.
And here's the thing about the opening exchanges — Seoul were sharp from the whistle. J. Son opened the scoring in the 15th minute before Kim Jin-Su doubled the advantage 7 minutes later. Gwangju responded through Choi Kyoung-Rok in the 34th minute, but then drama unfolded.
Kim Woo-jin picked up a yellow card in the 38th minute and was then sent off just two minutes later for a second booking. By then Seoul had extended their lead through Lee Seung-Mo on the stroke of half-time, and the home side were suddenly playing with ten men.
Gwangju refused to lie down. Shin Chang-Moo scored twice in quick succession in the 47th and 48th minutes to make it interesting, but Ahn Young-Kyu was then shown a second red card in the 56th minute. Seoul pulled away again with goals from Jeong Seung-Won and Anderson Oliveira.
