Iwata and Akita Share Points in Season Opener
DZubeau Iwata and Blaublitz Akita played out a 1-1 draw in the first round of the J-League 2 regular season on Saturday. R. Ota gave the hosts an early lead before K. Handa equalised for the visitors in the second half. The result leaves Iwata in 11th place with seven points and Akita in 16th with five after five matches each.

The result keeps both sides in their current positions, though the gap between 11th and 16th remains tight at two points.
