Lokomotiv Plovdiv lost 1-2 to Dunav Ruse in the Bulgarian First League on Sunday evening. The result leaves both sides in the bottom half of the table, with the visitors moving clear of their hosts by a point.
C. Longville opened the scoring early, putting Lokomotiv ahead in the fourth minute. The home side controlled much of the first half but could not extend their lead. A. Valino changed the game after the break, converting two penalties in quick succession to put Dunav in front.
Valino struck from the spot in the seventy-first minute before adding his second just sixty seconds later. Lokomotiv responded through K. Boychev, who scored in the seventy-seventh minute to bring the home side within one. The equaliser never came, despite Lokomotiv's continued pressure.
Longville was substituted in the sixtieth minute, and D. Ali followed in the seventy-second after receiving a yellow card. Lokomotiv had more attacks and corners but could not find a way through. Dunav made efficient use of their chances, landing three shots on target from Valino's double.
The result deepens Lokomotiv's struggles at the foot of the table. They sit fourteenth with three points from seven matches, having lost their last two league games. Dunav move up to twelfth with four points and keep their slim hopes of avoiding the drop alive.
