Posušje claimed a narrow 1:0 victory over Zvezda Gradačac in the First League of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Saturday. The match, played at home for Posušje, concluded without further incidents beyond the decisive goal. By then, both sides had completed three league fixtures, and the result shifted the momentum slightly in favour of the hosts.
Posušje moved up to fifth place in the standings with five points from three matches. The home side secured one win and two draws without suffering a defeat. Zvezda Gradačac remained in tenth position after collecting three points from one victory and two losses. The gap between them narrowed to two points in the table.
The result ended a run of mixed results for Posušje, who had drawn their previous fixture 2:2 with Bratstvo Gradačnica. Before that, they had lost 1:3 to Tomislav and suffered a 0:1 setback against Solin. Zvezda Gradačac, meanwhile, extended their struggles following a 0:1 defeat to TOŠK Tešanj. They had bounced back with a 6:0 win over Zvezda 09 before that loss.
What this means for the standings is that Posušje now sits above the halfway mark in points, while Zvezda Gradačac still have work to do. The hosts held their nerve after a difficult start to the campaign. The away side pulled off a stunning win earlier in the season but have yet to find consistency.
