Prostějov saw off Tatran Vsechovice 3:0 in the Cup Round of 64 at Vsechovice on Wednesday evening. By then the visitors had already set a tone that the hosts struggled to match.
J. Matousek opened the scoring in the twenty-sixth minute, a moment that shifted the balance. Prostějov held the tie in their own hands from that point forward. To be fair, they had looked sharper in the opening exchanges.
T. Ushiyama went off on forty-six minutes, replaced by D. Bezdek, while Tatran began to accumulate cautionary notices. S. Vyhlid, M. Zapletal and M. Hartman all received yellow cards before the hour mark. M. Skalsky came on for Vyhlid in the sixty-fourth minute. A. Binar replaced E. Okeke shortly after, and the pattern of changes continued through the second half.
Prostějov doubled their advantage in the eighty-eighth minute when J. Matousek struck again. A. Vitek was brought on at the same moment, and the visitors closed out the contest with D. Dziuba's late finish in stoppage time.
Prostějov registered seven shots on target against Tatran's single attempt, and the statistic tells you everything about the evening. The visitors enjoyed 58 per cent possession while the hosts managed 42 per cent. Both sides created roughly similar numbers of attacks — 86 for Prostějov, 87 for Tatran — but only one side converted.
The defeat leaves Tatran Vsechovice with another disappointment to reflect on. They have not won since their draw with Břidlična in mid-August. Prostějov advance to the next round with momentum.
