Aliou Thiare

Aliou Thiare's route to Kyiv began at Diambars, the Senegalese academy that produced him between 2019 and 2023 before Le Havre brought him to France. He spent his first season there with the club's reserve side in National 3, contributing three goals from the back over sixteen appearances, but it was a loan spell that shaped his career. Sent to Nancy for 2024/25, the centre-back started all 29 of his league matches as the club won the National title and secured promotion to Ligue 2, form that earned him a place in the division's team of the season.

That breakthrough campaign persuaded Le Havre to cash in rather than integrate him into their own squad. In September 2025, Dynamo Kyiv paid €1 million for the defender and signed him to a four-year contract. He has since become a fixture in the side, making 15 appearances and scoring once in his first season in Ukraine. Thiare was part of the Dynamo squad that beat Chernihiv 1-0 after extra time in the 2025/26 Ukrainian Cup final in Lviv.

At 197cm, Thiare offers Dynamo an imposing left-footed presence at the back. Internationally, he has represented Senegal at under-20 level, including at the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations, and has been described as a full senior international as well.
