Alessandro Goiginger

Alessandro Goiginger is a tall defender, and one who has never had to leave home to build a career. Every stage of his development has run through SV Ried: he came through the club's youth ranks from the under-14s through the under-15s, under-16s and under-18s, wearing number 33 once he reached the senior squad.

His first taste of first-team football with the under-18 side came with a goal, a mark of a player comfortable stepping up from age-group football rather than easing in quietly. That progression continued when he moved inside the club structure to SV Ried II, a step that put him on the doorstep of Bundesliga involvement.

The breakthrough followed with his promotion to the senior squad, where he has been used as a substitute in Bundesliga fixtures against Hartberg, Grazer AK and LASK. None of those appearances have carried him to a title or individual honour yet, but for a teenager still working through the age-group system just a season earlier, minutes in the top flight mark a clear step forward.

Goiginger has also been capped for Austria at under-17 level, featuring in qualifying rounds for the UEFA European Under-17 Championship. It places him among the age-group internationals SV Ried has produced from its own academy, with his path so far built entirely on progression through the club rather than a single defining transfer.
