About the player
Arthur Gomes plays as an inverted winger, cutting in from the left flank despite being right-footed. He moved to São Paulo and then Santos, where he signed his first professional contract in January 2015 and made his senior debut in November 2016. Loan spells at Chapecoense and Atlético Goianiense followed, and with Santos he reached the runner-up spot in the Brazilian Serie A and the Copa Libertadores.
A move to Portugal took him to Estoril in 2021, with Santos retaining half his economic rights, before Sporting CP signed him in September 2022. He opened his Champions League account for Sporting with a late goal against Tottenham Hotspur that September. He returned to Brazil with Cruzeiro in July 2023 before signing a five-year contract with Dynamo Moscow in September 2024.
Gomes scored his first goal for Dynamo against Dynamo Makhachkala in the Russian Cup shortly after his arrival, and picked up a Man of the Match award against Akron in April 2025. He ruptured his Achilles tendon during a match against Pari Nizhny Novgorod the same month; he worked his way back and returned to action in March 2026.
At youth level, Gomes represented Brazil at the 2015 U-17 World Cup, scoring once in five appearances, though a senior call-up has not followed.
