Augusto Cambon

Augusto Cambon came through the Defensor Sporting academy, where he finished as the second-highest scorer in the club's under-14 category in 2019, with 31 goals in 34 matches. He won championships with the under-15 side in 2020, the under-16 side in 2021 and the under-19 side in 2022, before making his senior debut for Defensor in February 2023.

At first-team level, Defensor won the Copa Uruguay in both 2023 and 2024; the 2023 final was delayed until May 2024, when Defensor beat Montevideo City Torque on penalties after a 2-2 draw, and the following December Cambon featured as Defensor beat Nacional on penalties to secure a third straight Copa Uruguay title. The Primera División title itself went elsewhere each of those seasons, with Liverpool, Peñarol and Nacional taking the league in turn. In 2025 he added a league goal for Defensor before his time at the club ended.

Internationally, Cambon has represented Uruguay at under-20 level, making three appearances in 2024 without scoring. He trained with the squad and played in a preparatory friendly against the under-20 side in May 2023, but was left out of the final 21-man roster for the under-20 World Cup that Uruguay went on to win.

In January 2026, Cambon moved to Cerro on a loan from Defensor Sporting, arriving without a transfer fee attached.
