About the player
Hairo Amaro is a product of Uruguayan youth football, having come through Carrasco Lawn Tennis, Náutico and Siete Estrellas before joining Danubio's academy in 2017. He stayed there four years, then switched to Nacional's youth ranks in 2021, the club that eventually gave him his senior debut on 25 September 2024 in a 5–1 Copa AUF Uruguay win over Frontera Rivera Renegades. That first season brought three league appearances, and by the end of the campaign Amaro had a Supercopa Uruguaya winner's medal with Nacional.
In July 2025 he moved to Danubio on loan, playing seven league matches under Pablo Peirano. He described the loan as the best option for his development at that stage of his career. Amaro returned to Nacional in December 2025, but his time back at the club was brief: on 5 January 2026 he joined Cerro on a free transfer, signing through the end of that year.
At Cerro, Amaro quickly established himself as a regular starter in the 2026 Uruguayan Primera División season.
