Bohdan Sarnavskyi

Bohdan Sarnavskyi came through Kyiv's academies, moving from Dynamo Kyiv's youth ranks to Arsenal Kyiv and then Shakhtar Donetsk before he had made a senior appearance of note. His path through Ukrainian football included a Ukrainian Cup medal with Shakhtar in 2015/16, though he watched most of that campaign from the bench, and a string of loans and moves that took him through Ufa, Vorskla Poltava, Veres Rivne, Lviv and Dnipro-1, with a further loan spell at Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih and a brief stint in Israel with Hapoel Tel Aviv.

The clearest mark of his career belongs to his time at Lviv, in the 2019/20 Ukrainian Premier League season. Across 11 penalty shootouts he was on the winning side six times, and in five of those wins he personally saved a spot kick — matching a record set back in the 1993/94 season by Valeriy Vorobyov.

After his contract at Kryvbas expired, Sarnavskyi signed for Lechia Gdańsk on a free transfer. His form in the first half of the 2023/24 season earned him the Best Goalkeeper award in the Polish First League as Lechia won the division and secured promotion. He went on to make 46 appearances for the club before a move to Irtysh Pavlodar.

At international level, Sarnavskyi has represented Ukraine at every youth age group from under-16 to under-21, and started four matches in goal at the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup, keeping three clean sheets. He has not featured for the senior national team.
